Food Freedom and the FDA

The Food and Drug Administration has become an organization that protects the interests of big food companies and big drug companies. The FDA routinely attacks natural health providers, including those selling raw milk on a local and intrastate basis.

While the FDA, as a federal organization, is prohibited by the 10th amendment to the Constitution from regulating intrastate commerce. The FDA (and FCC and others) routinely exceed the bounds of their authority by attempting to enforce their rules on intrastate (within a state) commerce.

In 2009, Ron Paul introduced HR 778 to end federal restrictions on interstate traffic of raw milk. This would have prevented the FDA from regulating sales of milk between banks.

Farm To Consumer Legal Defense Fund has extensive coverage of the raw milk saga.

Endorsement Undone

Last week, Dr. James Dobson (founder of Focus on the Family) endorsed Trey Grayson.

Today, Dr. James Dobson endorsed Rand Paul and retracted the prior endorsement. In the endorsement, he blamed incorrect facts provided by "senior members of the GOP". The dirty tricks of the senior GOP will continue to sink their ship, and will provide more support to liberty candidates such as Rand Paul.
