HR 6416: The American Traveler Dignity Act

Ron Paul has introduced HR 6416, The American Traveler Dignity Act.

From Ron Paul's speech on the floor of the House:

Enough is enough.

Private property should be protected by private individuals not bureaucrats.

The solution is to allow the private sector, preferably the airlines themselves, to provide for the security of their property.

The duty of the government is to protect our rights.

Let's make sure that every member of Congress goes through the groping pat-downs.

Shrug off the shackles of our government.

Like No One Has Ever Approached It

Let's see if the Republicans allow Ron Paul to be the chairman of the House Subcommittee for Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology.

Odds are you haven’t heard of the monetary policy subcommittee. ...

“I will approach that committee like no one has ever approached it because we’re living in times like no one has ever seen,” Paul said in an interview with NetNet Thursday.

Paul said his first priority will be to open up the books of the Federal Reserve to the American people.

Rand Paul's #1 Issue

From an interview on "This Week".

Host: What is your first aim once you get to -- to the Senate?

Rand Paul: I think the debt. We have to do something about the debt. I think we've been fiscally irresponsible for a generation or more here.

David Stockman On Politics And The Fed

23 seconds into this interview, David Stockman says, "I think there is one small good thing that happened. Ron Paul is going to be chairman of the subcommittee that has jurisdiction over the Fed. I can't wait for the hearings."

David Stockman later says, "The Fed is injecting high grade financial heroin into the system and one of these days it's going to kill the patient."

Colorado Major/Minor Party

In Colorado, a 10% showing in the gubernatorial election gives that party "major" party status. The Colorado GOP narrowly maintained major party status with Dan Maes achieving 11% of the vote.
At 9:30 a.m., Hickenlooper was leading with 50.5 percent of votes cast, or 836,083 votes. Tancredo, a former House Republican, had 36.8 percent, or 610,689 votes; and Maes had 11.2 percent, or 185,700 votes.

Major parties are in the top two slots of all ballots, and have easier ballot access including higher fundraising limits.

The American Constitution Party's candidate will become a major party. Without the GOP becoming a "minor" party, there is little chance Coloradoans will push for changes to the state ballot access laws.
